Wednesday Walks
If you're a member of the Gold Coast Bushwalkers Club, you're familiar with the club's regular weekend walks. But did you know that the club also offers Wednesday walks? These walks are a wonderful way to get in a midweek workout, explore new trails, and meet new people.
Our Wednesday walks range from the Gold Coast coastline to the hinterland, and on most weeks, we include a walk for the not so fit and a challenging walk for experienced fit bushwalkers. We carpool from either of 2 meeting points: Nerang or Mudgeeraba. BYO morning tea and lunch. Experienced walk leaders. Enjoy physical activity and social interaction.
Here are some examples of Wednesday walks that we might offer:
- Easy to medium day walks in local parks and reserves:
- Burleigh Head National Park
- Currumbin Valley National Park
- Tallebudgera Creek Conservation Park
- Guided tours of historical or cultural sites:
- Burleigh Head Aboriginal National Heritage Place
- Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves
- Springbrook National Park Environmental Education Centre
- Social events, such as Christmas parties
No matter what your interests are, there's sure to be a Wednesday activity that's right for you. So, get involved and enjoy all that our bushwalking club has to offer!
To join a Wednesday walk, simply check the club's website or calendar for the upcoming schedule and register for the walk if required. Bring appropriate clothing and footwear, as well as plenty of water and snacks. Be aware of the weather conditions and dress accordingly. Let the leader know if you have any health concerns or limitations.
We hope to see you on a Wednesday walk soon!
