Thursday Evening Walks
The Gold Coast Bushwalkers Club organizes weekly Thursday evening walks in the southern end of the Gold Coast, for its members and visitors. These walks are a fantastic way to explore the beautiful Gold Coast beaches and suburbs, meet new people, and stay active. Southern is defined as Robina to Coolangatta.
Schedule
The weekly Thursday evening walks depart at 5:30 PM sharp, rain or shine. The walk lasts for approximately 1.5 hours and covers a distance of 5-7 kilometers. The terrain varies from flat to hilly and traverse beachside, parklands and Gold Coast suburban streets.
Difficulty Level
The Thursday evening walks are not overly strenuous for an active person.
What to Bring
Participants are advised to bring the following items for the walk:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water bottle
- Torch
- Rain gear
- Spare jumper
- First aid kit
- Food and drink
Finish
After the walk, participants can enjoy a social BYO BBQ supper or occasional pub meal. The social aspects and enjoying balmy subtropical evenings are an important part of the Thursday night walks.
How to Join
To join the weekly Thursday evening walks, you need to be a member of the Gold Coast Bushwalkers Club. You can become a member by visiting the club’s website 1 and following the instructions provided there. Once you become a member, you will receive regular updates about the club’s activities, including the weekly Thursday evening walks.
If you are not yet ready to become a member, you can still participate in the weekly Thursday evening walks as a visitor. Visitors are required to pay a small fee of $5 per walk. To participate as a visitor, please contact the Thursday night walks coordinator via email or phone 1.
