Commemoration for Ron Quickenden and Quickenden Awards

Commemoration Event for Ron Quickenden October 2026

Dear all

On Saturday 10 October from 1 pm the Gold Coast Bushwalkers Club will hold a Commemoration Event for Ron Quickenden who recently passed away.  Ron was one of the founding members of our Club and is remembered fondly by many current members.  Members and their guest/partner are welcome.  Anyone who would like to give a short presentation about their friendship and walking with Ron Quickenden is welcome to do so.  No doubt there are many stories to be told. 

We will put the event onto Member Jungle where you can register please by 3 October for catering purposes.

A light lunch will be provided, plus coffee and tea.  BYO wine or beer.

We will hold the Quickenden Awards at that time as well and hope that past recipients of the award will be able to attend and perhaps give their thoughts about the award and what it means to have received it.

Venue: Mudgeeraba Hall, 62-64 Railway St Mudgeeraba

Time: 1 pm for a light lunch followed by short presentations and the Quickenden Awards.
