🚗 Upgraded Ride Sharing Calculator: Easier Access for All Members!

We recently introduced a spreadsheet tool to help with carpooling costs, but we’ve heard your feedback! To make sure the tool works perfectly for everyone—especially those using iPhones—we have upgraded the calculator.

Instead of opening a separate file, the calculator is now built directly into our website. This means it loads faster, works on every smartphone, and doesn't require any extra apps to run.

How to Access the Tool

You can now find the calculator quickly and easily:

On the Website: Go to Home → Resources → Ride Sharing Contributions.
On the App: Tap the "Ride Sharing" button on your Member Jungle app dashboard.

How it Works

Whether you are an Event Leader or a passenger, you can determine a fair contribution in seconds:

Select Vehicle Details: Choose your Engine Type (Petrol, Diesel, or Electric) and Vehicle Size.
Enter the Group Size: Input the number of people in the car (including the driver).
Choose Your Destination: Select a park from the list or enter a custom distance for a unique trip.

The Result: The tool instantly displays the Contribution Per Person, and the total cost for the trip, including the driver contribution. For simplicity, the driver and passengers may agree to round the amount to the nearest dollar.

Fair and Consistent

The committee maintains the underlying rates for fuel and vehicle efficiency to ensure drivers are fairly reimbursed for their fuel and vehicle wear-and-tear. By using this tool at the start of your journey, everyone can enjoy the day knowing the costs are handled fairly and transparently.
