President's Report October 2025
27th October 2025
By Michelle Jackson
It's great to see so many new members joining our club, and our activity program is very healthy, with multiple activities during the week, as well as the weekend, which is a great enticement for joining the club, our numbers up on activities across the board.
After attending a Thursday evening walk it's easy to see why the walks during the week have become so popular, a special thanks to those leaders that continue to put walks and activities on weekly and monthly, for the benefit of our members, this is appreciated by all who attend.
A reminder to leaders that any visitors attending an activity must still fill in an "Acknowledgement of Risk Form" and pay the $5.00 fee, the leader can then transfer this to the club's bank account and the form is to be returned to our secretary Anna Bransden. Visitors may do 2 activities before they are required to join the club.
A big thanks to our membership officer Laura Ryan who has completed a photobook of the club's 50th Anniversary and the pilgrimage that we hosted, this will be available to view at our Christmas party.
All those talented photographers in the club, please get your photos in for the annual competition, as it's our 50th, we have a 1st and 2nd prize this year for each category. To enter, you must attend the Christmas party to collect your prize.
For our anniversary next year, we are hosting a bush dance on the afternoon of the 1st of March, with the Band'o'coots bush band. For those that attended the Pilgrimage, the band put on a very entertaining evening, which was a lot of fun. Registrations are open in Member Jungle.
For our next general meeting on the 2nd of December, we have a special presentation compiled by Bob Fairless and presented by Gary Scott on the recent 4WD adventure, organised by John and Geoff, this was an outback trip that went out as far as Birdsville, visiting townships along the way. So come and enjoy this presentation, it will be very entertaining, and will give you a good taste of the outback. We also have a special treat of sushi that evening.
Enjoy your activities
