For the first time ever, this course is being offered to all members at NO COST.

DATE: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25th 2025 AT 9:00 AM

VENUE: ELANORA LIBRARY

COST: FREE

HOSTS: LIFE FLIGHT (Our helicopter rescue service)

The course is delivered by LifeFlight’s highly experienced healthcare workers, who share the same knowledge they use on the frontline. In just a few hours, participants learn practical, hands-on skills such as CPR, snake-bite and bleeding control, choking response, and other lifesaving first aid actions. Other bush survival skills will also be covered.

Topics, such as:

  • Snake bites,
  • Heat illness and dehydration,
  • Ticks and Leeches,
  • Anaphylaxis and epipens,
  • What to carry in a First Aid kit,
  • Use of PLB's and Epirbs,
  • Emergency apps, First Aid apps that do not rely on internet connection, etc.

The program exists because in many emergencies, especially in regional and remote areas, bystanders are often the very first responders. The actions taken in those first few minutes can literally mean the difference between life and death.

Their hands-on emergency trauma training equips participants with practical skills to handle life-threatening situations.

When every second counts, knowing what to do until help arrives can make all the difference. This could be in the bush, in your home, on the street, wherever an unexpected medical incident occurs.

When every second counts, knowing what to do until professional medical help arrives can make all the difference.

This course is about equipping yourself with the skills you need when professional help could be hours away.

If you need more information, come to our October 7th. General Meeting, where a representative from Life Flight will address attendees and answer all questions.
