28th August 2024
By Michelle Jackson

We had a great turn out at our last general meeting and to entice everyone along to our next general meeting on Tuesday the 1st of October we have a bring, buy and swap night, so all those  bushwalking items  in your garage that are not used  or needed, please bring them along so that someone else can benefit, we have a lot of new members all looking for gear as well as other members who might need to update their gear. Please send a list along to Anna our secretary, who will advertise what will be on offer and you never know you might be able to buy a lot of gear at a fraction of the price of the shops.

Also we will have a new leaders talk for those thinking about leading a walk or just wanting to know what is involved, lots of great advice and some great tips from our experienced leaders.

Just a reminder that it's getting to that time of the year when we need your nomination for our Quickenden award, this award is presented to a long term member of the club who has consistently contributed to our club and is deserving of this special award.

Also time to sort through those wonderful photos you have taken over the year, for our photo competition, this year we have 5 categories- Rainforest magic, It's all about the light, Comedy, Scenery and Club activities. Last year we had some amazing photos submitted, most of which could have been in National Geographic. This year we will award the winners at the club Christmas party, so if you submit photos please make sure you attend the party.

Our events are now open for the Christmas party and the 50th Anniversary party so please nominate as soon as you can, visitors are welcome to attend the Christmas party but due to increase in costs, we will have to charge $20.00 per head to non members.

Lots of new members are joining all the time and we are now up to 308 in membership, which is fantastic, the club is going so well and it's thanks to you our members , leaders and co-ordinators and of course the hard working committee.

Enjoy your activities,

Michelle Jackson - President
