OT S to M T4 F3 to F4 Bonogin Creek explore

Date changed from the 12th to 26th due to recent back burning in the area

Enjoy today exploring one of our beautiful creeks in our local back yard. Part of this walk will be a recce so the terrain obstacles will be unknown

I will lead this according to the skill and fitness of the group. It is still a T4 (Terrain 4) with rock hopping and navigating rock areas and waterfalls.

However there will be a two options available,

Option 1 T4 F3 is about a 3km rock hop to an intersection of waterways and return via the same way or a fire trail. A short approx 5 to 6km round trip

Those choosing option 1 and returning, must be confident to return on their own or with a smaller group and bring their own transport or car pool with only those doing option 1.

Option 2 T4 F4 full off track will continue up one of the waterways to eventually make our way to the Bally tourist track. We will follow this to the top of Big Bally, explore over the razor back and return to Big Bally to drop off a steep ridge to return to the cars. 

Starting at the Bally conservation car park we navigate up Bonogin Creek. The rocks are mostly solid with only a few gravel area. Hopefully conditions will still be dry so navigating up and over cascades and waterfalls should be a bit easier. We will have a break at a larger waterfall that is at the intersection of several waterways. Option 1 group will return to the cars
