Balancing Rock, Python Rock and Pat's Bluff

This walk at O'Reillys has some amazing views. It is approximately 12 klms  along mainly graded track with a small portion of off track.

The walk is a circuit starting and finishing at O'Reillys. We walk out past the accommodation units then descend to Moran's Creek via The Wishing Tree track. We have an option to have morning tea on the bench seats beside the creek. Then up an old forestry road to Hunters Lookout to the Lost World. Then out to Balancing Rock to grab a photo and spot some wildflowers. Then back to Hunters lookout for a mini break. We then zip down to Morans Falls. After this it is uphill to O'Reillys Road followered by a quick out and back to Python Rock for lunch.

After lunch it is on to Pat's Bluff to enjoy the view. This is not a formed track rather it is just a pad as they are called. A quick walk down the ridge to the top of Bridal Veil Falls with spectacular views along the cliff line. We then walk back up Pat's Bluff and take the direct route back to O'Reillys.

The walk traverses several types of forest from rainforest to dry woodland and montane heath. We will see great views of the Scenic Rim and Morans Falls

Bring the usual day walk essentials. Ensure you bring a jacket as it can still get cool in the rainforest during morning tea. Bring rain gear and insect repellent. Also a change of shirt and shoes for the trip back in someone else's car.
