POSTPONED (FULLY BOOKED) DW L T3F3 Ships Stern Circuit
Ships Stern Circuit is a long (21kms), graded track walk from Binna Burra in Lamington National Park south of Brisbane in the Gold Coast hinterland.
Done in a clockwise direction, the walk initially goes down through rainforest into the Nixon Creek valley. It then climbs up through eucalypt forest to the Ships Stern lookout at Kooloobano Point. The track is then fairly level with only slight gradient variations. Along the way there are plenty of highlights, including lookouts both out and back. There are a few short side trips. There is a variety of vegetation, including rainforest along the creeks and open eucalypt country with views down the Numinbah valley.
Being one of the longest walks in Lamington, there is a wide variety of terrain and landscape to enjoy. We will do the walk at a moderate pace, allowing time for photo stops and lunch at Kooloobano Point.
Meeting point will be at the trail head in the lower car park.
Meeting time is 8am
