DW S T2F2 Coochiemudlo Island
If you have never crossed the ocean to Coochie, now is your chance! Coochiemudlo means ""red rock"". This is a delightful little island in Moreton Bay, a mere 10-minute ferry ride from Victoria Point - cost $5 return with a Seniors Card! We may commence with a coffee at the Curlews or the Beach Bat or BYO. We will then circumnavigate the island on foot via the beaches, bush tracks, golf course, red rocks and little roads, passing an amazing variety of island homes and hideaways. Many poets and artists live on Coochie. It has a very special charisma. Bring morning tea for half-way around at the back beach where we can also enjoy a paddle. We can have lunch at Curlews cafe or the Beach Bar or bring your own lunch and enjoy it at a picnic table or on the beach at the start/finish area on Norfolk Beach with an optional swim. Your day, your choice! It won't be a long day, we should be on an early afternoon ferry back to Victoria Pt.
We will meet at Chemist Warehouse, Homeworld, Hope Island, at 7am to depart promptly at 7.15pm. This is quite near the highway, so should be convenient to all.
Alternative Meeting Place : Coochiemudlo passenger ferry terminal Victoria Point 8.30 am to catch the 9.00 am ferry. (bring your seniors card). Please meet in the car park at the entrance to the jetty.
