Postponed due to weather Boyd's Butt OT F4 T4
Departing Elsie Laver 7.30 am
Starting at Currumbin Cascades car park we will cross the creek near the old saw mill. We then head up a steep ridge before crossing a short distance on a fire trail.
From the top of this steep ascent, the terrain has become very overgrown requiring careful footing and navigation. We navigate across some rocky outcrops to eventually be below one of the Butts. We will then climb the middle Butt for morning tea.
We will continue on and enjoy a different view from the next Butt before descending a now well worn but very steep return track to make a circuit back to the old saw mill.
Both Butt ascents involve some steep rock scrambling.
Plenty of swimming opportunities at the end of the hike.
Although a short hike there is significant elevation gain so a good level of fitness is required. Full off track gear, longs or gaiters essential and plenty of water required.
