DW M T3F3 Evans Head

Evans Head is 90 minutes down the highway from Mudgeeraba. This coastal walk is very different from our usual hinterland walks. We are walking in Dirawong Reserve along unmarked tracks and footpads. We start by following coastal cliffs, several headlands and rock shelves. We then head inland though coastal heath, do a circuit of Goanna Headland before heading back along the full length of Chinamans Beach, passing some spectacular multicolored cliffs lined with pandanus trees. We then head back to the cars by a more inland route walking along coastal cliffs overlooking the beaches we walked along earlier. If the weather is sunny the wildflowers should be at their best. This will be a spectacular walk, done at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for photography, whale watching & swimming for those willing to offer themselves as sharkbait. We will have afternoon tea at Razorback Lookout. This is an excellent walk for new members.
